i have started a blog to sell the things i make. mostly i just want to get the word out, you are under no obligation to buy anything by reading this and you don't even have to tell anyone about the blog, but take a look at it just to see if you can see anything i need to change to make it better. i know the pictures aren't great right now and there is only one item on there but...baby steps people! anyway, here it is

lockers...
so...my lockers that i got are still outside and not doing too well because we have to take them apart and rebuild them and they are all rusty etc. so i have been looking around for newer ones...and there are four Mervyn's stores closing in Phoenix and they have lockers.
the trouble is they are in banks of 18 (some may be a bit smaller, some bigger....) i was going to go check them out and see if they are separate-able (i am fairly certain that is NOT a word...) but if they are separate-able (;))...would anyone like some? would be good storage for garage or i am putting some in the house...they are one big door on the front...standard size....something to think about..let me know if you are interested and if they can be separated (there's the better way to say that!) then we can get a bank of them and do that.
what do you think? they are $10 a hole and that is a STEAL of a DEAL, i have to tell you! so what do you think? huh huh huh???????
here is the link to the craigslist post in case you want anything else Mervyn's might be selling:)

End of an Era...
that is a Boppy, if you don't know...and we will soon be packing ours away to await some other child because my sweet baby Avery has decided she is DONE NURSING. yesterday she nursed in the morning and then refused to the rest of the day, and today...she just refused. i think she is getting more teeth and she keep trying to bite me but she won't nurse. so i think we are done.
i knew it was coming. you start this path knowing that it will end sometime after thier first birthday. and i always said, when she wants to stop (after the first birthday) we will. because, all you moms who breastfeed will know, if a kid doesn't want to...there's no forcing the issue. we had a good run, she is almost exactly the same age as ethan was when he stopped nursing, oddly enough. 13.5 months.
she seems to be transitioning well and i don't have any pain, so i think we'll all be fine. i will miss the closeness we had nursing and frankly, the time i had to read my books;) or take a catnap while ethan was occupied...but we'll have fun being all together now. i wonder if ethan will even notice that we don't do it anymore? he hasn't said anything today about it. we'll see:)

Bed revisited...
as i know that ALL of you have been waiting with baited breath to see what my bed turned out to be...(riiiiiight jen) here it is...
remember this post when we bought the bed with our tax check.
then i found bedding at Ross, such a steal, pillow shams at Target, and then i made the pillow with stripes.
here's the bed now:
close up of the pillow:
this is what the pillow used to be:
it was a cute rug but had brown instead of black so i covered the brown with black and sewed it up.
i just got all excited when i finished it yesterday. so now you know:)

Hippo Walker
Turn off music on the side near the bottom, to hear the sound for this video
she cannot resist walking behind the hippo...she's getting good at it, just not at turning it around yet...so she bangs it into the wall until i come and turn it for her and send her in a new direction

this was before i put it all together, top is done, need to cut the back to match...
it turned out well, not perfect but for my first time ever binding a quilt...i'm very happy with it. hopefully she will really like it as well. i just love her and want her to be so happy!
now, on to the actual wedding stuff....
PLEASE KEEP READING IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE REST OF MY WEEKEND...IF NOT, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND:)

the wedding...
so my friend Nikki is married! (yay!!!) here are a few pics of the joyous occasion...what a bummer though, nikki EXTREMELY sprained her foot 3 weeks before the wedding and she was still having trouble with it and had to wear some more practical shoes than the pretty pretty ones she had picked out for her wedding day...she still looked amazing though!
Avery and I waiting outside the temple:
Avery and Megan (my friend Amber's daughter), these girls are exactly 3 months apart, people kept asking us if they were twins....then who is the mom?
shoes shoes shoes....
which one is mine?????
pretty princess: she looked so lovely!
all the ladies:
reception:
we had a great time, and i hope that she knows how much we all love her!

Visit to My Brother's house...
my brother and family live in the bay area...San Ramon, in CA and i thought that since i hadn't seen them in about a year and they hadn't seen avery in that long...we'd go visit after the wedding, so saturday, early we flew out to oakland and visited with Nathan and Rebecca and their two boys, Cannon and Collin (i didn't get any pictures with cannon...he is so cute!)
we had such a great time, we went to a book sale at the library and got amazing books for $.50 and $1.00. we went to a parade, avery really liked that, had fantastic crepes, gourmet hot chocolate (it's cooler there...see other places actually do this season called "fall" i think arizona should look into that:))
we went shopping at H&M, had more good food, went to church, i saw The Devil Wears Prada and Mr. McGorium's Wonder Emporium for the first time...it was a great trip! avery did really really well and the boys really liked her, i think:) thanks for having us Nathan and Becky, it was so much fun!

a note on that...
so kendall's favorite thing is to find out obscure bits of info. or clarify things by "googling" it...how did we ever survive without the internet? so, see previous post, my mom says "home again home again, jiggety jig" when we return home from somewhere and here is where it is from...apparently it is a nursery rhyme
To market, to market,
To buy a fat pig,
Home again, home again,
Jiggety jig.
To market, to market,
To buy a fat hog,
Home again, home again,
Jiggety jog.
To market, to market,
To buy a plum bun,
Home again, home again,
Market is done.

home again home again...
jiggidy jig....i'm not sure why that is a saying, but my mom always used to say that when we returned home...
so i'm home...
details to come...
dun dun dun...(that's dramatic music)

Travel-Eve...
hello all...
it is travel-eve here at the wilson home. the day before avery and i will have a GIRLS ADVENTURE and head to my wonderful friend Nikki's wedding in California.
are they not so cute?????? so cute:) that's john in case anyone wants to know. good guy. i'm so flipping excited for her...she is such a wonderful person and i am so privileged to have known and be her friend this long, and for many more years to come:)
so avery and i are heading out tomorrow morning...this is going to be a trip of firsts for me: first manicure, first time being a bridesmaid and first time trying to corral a one year old at a wedding reception, sans wonderful husband...but we are going to have a blast....i have always been blessed with amazing friends and i am so excited to get to see some of them at this wedding!
which one of us is really pregnant??? hmmm...we have such a fun time together:)
on a different note, avery fell down over a toy today and hit her mouth so hard her lip was bledding on the inside and then i had to ascertain whether her teeth were going to have an injury or not (and let's remember we don't have insurance yet) and when i was fairly sure they weren't, i had to try to get some ice on her lip so it doesn't swell up like a yucky-ness...popsicles work well for that:)
anyway, so i'm on the verge of being frantic...getting last minute wedding present done...pics to follow my return on what that is...and thinking about packing etc. i am also excited because i get to go visit my brother and his family after the wedding..what an awesome trip! thank you to kendall and his family for taking care of the small boy so we could make this happen:)
so you won't hear from me for a little bit, but wish me luck in the airport:) (i think we will be fine, but you never can have too much luck:))

rice...
why do i keep serving my one year old meals with rice involved? she can eat it really well, pick it up well, that's a pro, but otherwise, it is not a great clean up situation. she has it stuck to the backs of her legs, it's all over the floor and the broom actually almost makes it worse. amazing...but i do love rice.
