the potty...

in the same breath that i am actually "saying" this (typing it, whatever) i am also taking it back because i don't want to jinx myself. we are potty training ethan and figure this is the time that it needs to work. he is three years and three months old, let's get on this people, right? he fights me every SINGLE time i want him to try to go potty, it is so frustrating. but if i wait for him, is he actually going to tell me? and now he won't poop. lame. he had a great day yesterday, no accidents but he just needs to calm down about it, i'm not sure how to do that. maybe i need to calm down too:) but truth be told, i'd rather be able to go out when i want and not have to take him to the potty when he is going to fuss about it all the time. anyway, that's what we are doing. silliness. good job all you moms that potty trained your kids, or the kids did it themselves:) wish us luck.

We are struggling too. Everything I try works for like 2 days, and then it's lost it's novelty and we're back to peeing in the pants. On a lighter side of this, yesterday I saw a potty chair at Walmart that was "Jack Potty" it was like a slot machine. When the kid goes, it goes jackpot. Isn't that ridiculously funny?

I don't have any advice really. Every kid is so different. What worked for Maryn was that we got her a new toy that she really wanted. She could play with it for like 10-15 minutes, then it went up on the counter (where she could see it). After she went on the potty, she got the toy back, etc. It took a lot of time commitment for me, but it worked for us.
Good luck!

I didn't train my oldest son until he was 3 1/2 years old. He never showed interest.. so I didn't push it. At 3 1/2 I gave him m & m's everytime he went. We spent an entire day with no undies on and stayed off the carpet - it works the older they get..promise!
