What are you thinking!?!? You're crazy! I wish you the best of luck. I'd offer advice, but I may be the worst potty trainer in the world! I'm dreading it with Isaac. I think we're going to start in the summer. Good luck! I still think you're crazy!

Oh me too! I have no advice to give. JC is so far from potty trained and I so wish we were closer!

every child is soo different! for us we had a chart by the toilet and everytime she went she got a sticker and after so many she got aone of the Cars from the movie cars. I put her on every hour or so. make it a big deal when he goes and be ready for lots of accidents. as frustrating as it might be don't get mad at him when he has an accident. these are a few things that worked for us. good luck!

My pediatrician recommended a book titled something to the effect of Potty Train your child in 24 hours. He said that you wouldn't have to do it in 24 hours necessarily, but the advice in the book is really good. I don't know the author, but I'm sure you could go to amazon and find it.
Honestly, I've heard several women echo my thoughts that the dad had better luck than they did. I think it has something to do with not seeing dad as much and dad being a more strict disciplinarian. It makes a lot of sense to me. Derek definitely enforces his rules with better consistency than I do--since he's not worn down by the end of the day. And, with only getting a little time with dad vs. all the time he gets with you, he would be more motivated to impress his dad.
Those are my thoughts.

Jon and I have a deal- he does the boys, I do the girls. So far it's worked. (Athough Jon wants to claim credit for Maryn too.)
My only advice is- only try when you think he's ready. If he doesn't catch on in the first few days- give up! And try again in a few months.

honestly I'm like pull ups until you're 10 if you can't do it. Who really cares. Can't go to preschool unless you're potty trained? super. always wanted homeschool anyway. Diapers are expensive? of course but worrying about it and getting impatient and not being able to freaking walk through target without having to bring your entire cart full of non-purchased items and your other kid and everyone needing to wash their hands for 20 minutes afterward...seriously...priceless.
I've never met a missionary who is unpotty trained. One day he's probably going to be like, 'mom...I need to go to the potty and that will be that.'
i love you.

Hunter was 4 and we tried three times before that to do it. Everyone is on there own level. Don't get discouraged. If you feel like he's getting it that is an awesome step in the right direction. . . . Much love. Do you need chocolate chips cookies/cold stone/Jamba? let me know
