i'm in need of some new recipes! it was hot today...just a warm-up (as it were) to temperatures to come, i know, but i was thinking of making dinner and turning on the oven made me want to go lay down:) so do you have any great recipes you like to make in the summer???? (even if you have to use the oven, i don't mind, i am just a little tired of our tried and and true recipes) something fun? fresh? anything is a good idea...we're brainstorming! thanks in advance. you can post them in the comments or email me (myhedwig@gmail)

I felt the same way today...so we went to Sweet Tomatoes! Not really a recipe, but an idea all the same. I'll start thinking for you!

I LOVE to bust out that chicken salad that Kendall's mom had when we came to visit on hot days...not that we see very many of them here lately. I have another idea, but I'll email it to ya.

You should check out my friend Angie's blog, listed on the side of mine. It says "Angie and Klane"...she has lots of simple, yummy recipes she does and posts (you might have to scroll back for a while to find them) and also some good recipe sites listed on her blog.

I thought of one. BLT's. Super easy and yummy! For these I buy the precooked bacon, so I only have to pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Then I toast the bread and spread butter and mayo on it. Add your lettuce and tomato and you're done! Awesome and you didn't heat up your house and it only took you 10 minutes. My kids don't eat these very well though. They eat Pb&j when we have these, but they never complain!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Sorry- I am a little behind in the blog world. Good luck and I hope you are feeling well. I am glad that I am not the only person that gets frustrated with their kids. I just pray a lot. :-) I am going to think of some summer recipes for you... I need to get myself in the summer mode... I still have soups on my mind. :-) Have a great day.

All of my favorites are posted on my blog. We do egg sandwiches on nights I don't feel like cooking or cold cereal. Elodie loves that!

Crock pot meals are good too because you don't have to heat up your house and only requires little prep work in the morning. I made a really good cafe rio chicken in my crock pot with rice and we had burritos. I'll send over the recipe.

do you have a rice cooker? I have a GE one that matches everything else in my kitchen but I'm sure others come with steemer trays that go above the rice. That's great because it's not all hot and wintery like a slow cooker and you can put chicken and veggies to steam while you make rice below! instant heat free success. ps, perhaps Ruby and Ethan actually are the same person with regards to driving their mothers INSSANE!

This is an oven recipe, but super quick and easy. Just get some chicken tenderloins, put slices of cheese over top (my mother in law uses swiss, I use provolone), pour cream of chicken soup all over it and pour dry stuffing over the top. Easy and the chicken gets really moist. I'll try to think of something not hot... love ya girly!

Go Crock pot! I love the orange chicken recipe in the ward cook book! I also heart Italian salad curly noodles, tomatoes, olives, shrimp or chicken and italian dressing. Many variations but i love to keep it simple!

I have been thinking about this post a lot, and instead of writing anything, I'm just going to offer any of my cookbooks to borrow. I have a ton! It's always nice to get a look at someone else's stuff.
